               3. History & Background of Its Establishment:

   This Tahsil has been created vide Notification No. 99966/ Rev., dated 22.12.1976 of Government in Revenue Department and started functioning with effect from 01-01-1977, now is functioning in its own building.

a) Boundary of Tahasil:

East: Nabarangpur Tahsil 
West: Bastar District of Chatishgarh 
North: Papadahandi Tahsil 
South: Kotpad Tahsil of Koraput District

• To collect Land Revenue,Cess. Royalty, Sairat
• To recover public demand
• To leas out Govt. land to eligible ST/ SC and other families
• To evict encroachment and prevent unauthorized occupation
• To combat natural calamities, rescue and relief to victims under disaster management prescribed under Odisha Relief Code
• To manage duties & function of Revenue Administration under the area and jurisdiction
